I’m totally seeing improvement with my seasonal eating quest! I’m finding that I could highly benefit from shopping for my produce somewhere that’s not Walmart. We’ve always done fine with getting our produce here but if we’re going to be serious about seasonal eating, Publix, Sprouts or if you can find a local farmer’s market provide more seasonal choices. For me, anyway.
I’ve bought some new veggies that I’ve never had before! With Thanksgiving having me never at home, I haven’t cooked them yet but they’re in my fridge hopefully staying intact until I get the chance!
I’ve also come to realize that your seasonal eating list may be different if depending on where you live. My lists are tailored to my area which is north Alabama. I would imagine that it would work for you if you are in this region of the U.S. at all but be aware that it may be completely different if you’re no where near me.
It also may vary between early in the month and late in the month. To keep things as simple and non confusing as possible, I’ve chosen the list for early in the month and do so for all of my seasonal eating posts.
To get a more precise list tailored to your location, check out Seasonal Food Guide which is where I get all of my information from! You can follow them on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and/or Pinterest AND download their handy dandy app! I’m in love with them and surrounding yourself with seasonal eating posts like theirs makes your quest that much easier and more fun! I’m finding tons of mouth watering recipes I can’t wait to try!

As I mentioned in November’s Seasonal Eating Post, I’m learning about the doshas and how to heal them with seasonal eating. Imbalances in the doshas show up in various forms, most prominently (as with anything) physical symptoms.
I have a vata and pitta imbalance that began manifesting itself towards the end of my pregnancy almost a year ago that I’m still dealing with. If you’ve read my PUPPPs story, you know how hard it’s been on me. I still have patches of itchy rashes on my body and my lips stay dry and chapped but chapstick burns them.
There’s little to no help for these problems. My doctors and dermatologist tells me it’s “just pregnancy hormones” and will “go away in time.” Meanwhile they can offer me no help, no relief and the internet also has little to nothing for me. This is why I’m so passionate about taking your health into your own hands.
My dosha balancing journey is my latest quest in curing my problems.
