Crystal grids are something that has fascinated me for years. I’ve been intrigued by the practice enough to keep my house strategically-ish grided, placing crystals (mostly quartz points but others as well). I keep points above doorways, in window sills, on furniture, making sure they have a line of energy connecting from one to the other to frame the entire room.
I do this to create a perimeter of sacred space. Infusing my intentions of peace within my home and protection from negative energy into the stones. This has been my simple and generic practice with crystal grids but I never studied much into them.
Then I came across Emma on Instagram. Emma is an expert with crystal grids and has created her business, Manifest Your Destiny, entirely around them. Her grids are the most beautiful I’ve ever seen so I reached out to her for an interview to see if she’d be willing to teach us some things!
Thank you for being here and sharing all of your knowledge with us! Your crystal grids are absolutely beautiful and inspiring! Can you tell us how you got started with making them?
Awww thank you so much, that is really lovely to hear, I love it when people connect with the energies of crystals and with the grids. I started to create crystal grids in 2012, it was part of my reawakening and reconnection with crystals, at the time of it happening I didn’t realize that is what was happening, this understanding has come over the last few years as my connection has grown, that’s another story however ha ha.
Working with crystal grids happened at a time when things were quite rough and there was a lot of things going on that I just couldn’t quite get my head around. That lead me to working with a lot of crystals that hold protective properties but because of the layout of my home and I have quite a few animals I could never put the grids exactly where I wanted them.
One day I came across some shadowbox frames and thought it would be a good idea to put crystals in them…..and essentially this was how Manifest was born.
Crystal gridding is considered a “New Age” thing. Many people aren’t familiar with these practices. If someone had never heard of crystal grids, how would you explain crystal grids to them?
There has been such a rise in crystal gridding over the last few years which is amazing. Whenever I am describing crystal grids to anyone I like to refer to them as your cheerleading squad. They are your energy tool for the areas in your journey that you are working on.
In a cheerleading squad, if you want to be able to achieve your routine, it’s not a solo achievement, you all have to work together to build that routine and essentially that is what crystal grids do.
They are an energy powerhouse that give your intentions a laser-point purpose, by placing your chosen crystal combination into a geometric pattern or layout, they will work with you to see new avenues, break though old programming that no longer serves you and see the path with more clarity and understanding.
I love that analogy!
These are a great way to bring a bit of magic into our homes and lives! What are crystal grids used for? Can you give us some examples and how each may look different?
Crystal grids are amazing and can be super powerful in any avenue of your life. If you work authentically with crystal grids then they will bring so much into your life. Really there are no limits to what you can use crystal grids for, some of the most popular requests are:
- Love
- Protection
- Angel communication
- Energy
- Prosperity
- Abundance
But really there are no limits to what intentions you can set for them.
What are some of your favorite crystals to use? For what purposes?
Ohhh its quite difficult to pick just a few as depending on what I am working on depends which ones are shouting to me at any one time.
One of my all time favourites in Pyrite, it’s the first stone I reconnected with in 2012. Its my protector, a lot of people will know it as fools gold and use it in financial prosperity and success work, which it is fantastic for, but it is also an amazing grounding stone, giving strength and knowledge of what energies are yours to hold and what belongs to someone else for you to reflect away.
Labradorite is another of my favourites, it has the most stunning flashes of blues, greens, yellows and purples through it that are just gorgeous. They are full of magic, they are great companions to help you on your psychic development journey.
Again, for me, it was a protection purpose that brought us together, a way for me to keep myself shielded and reduce my periods of anxiety. Since my first encounter with them they have helped me to discover more about myself and a greater understanding of periods of serendipity.
Amazonite is a stone that brings me great peace and tranquility. It allows me to be at one with myself, to take a step back and become more fluid in my approach to situations. It is a stone that connects me to my love of the sea and the freedom and love that this represents to me.
I’ve gridded rooms throughout my house with crystals for years. I didn’t really know what I was doing precisely, I just stuck crystals, mostly quartz points, in every corner, above door frames, etc. Is there a true method to gridding rooms or is it just an intuitive, anything goes type of practice?
So some people will tell you that there is a certain way to do anything and that may be the way for them, however what I like to say is that is what is true for them. Over the last few years, I have seen so many different ways to grid, with so many “must do’s”, some things people say resonate and some just don’t.
The reason for that is because there is actually no right or wrong way, its connection to source and working with your higher self, so if it feels right trust that and don’t doubt what your connection is guiding you to do.
What’s the difference in gridding a whole room and having a small grid like one of yours in the room? Is there any difference?
It’s all down to intention really, the way that I work is if I am gridding a whole room it is normally for protection, cutting through stagnant energy or uplift the energy that is within that room. The crystal grids can also be for this but a lot of the ones that I create are for the person as opposed to the space, so the person is stepping into the energy of the grid and working through what the grid is intended for.
Would you use different types of grids for different rooms?
Yes definitely, I would recommend that to begin with that you start with just one, whilst you learn to hear the whispers and pay attention to the nudges, but you can 100% use them in different rooms, for example you can put a lovely relaxing grid in your bedroom to help you unwind and relax and bring a beautiful energy to the room that you sleep in. You can put in a success grid into your office space and a protective grid into your hallway by your door.
I absolutely love all of the intention and purpose behind this!
Do the crystal grids require any upkeep? Clearing, charging, etc? How would we do that if so?
Yeah there are times when your grid may feel a bit lackluster, its energy will tend to tell you. You shouldn’t need to clear it unless you are clearing that intention and you want it to work on a retune of your intention. But if you need to remove any sticky energy and recharge then there are a couple of ways to do that.
- Selenite is an amazing crystal to use to clear that energy away, it’s like a vacuum, sweeping it over the grid will suck up that energy.
- Visualization is also an amazing way to clear that energy, the power of visualization is amazing.
- Giving it a little energy boost, you can sit it in a space under a full moon or new moon.
- Placing it on selenite, carnelian and/or citrine with the intention of an extra charge and again visualization.
Is there anything else we’ve left out that you feel is important for us to know on the subject of crystal grids?
For me, I think the most important thing in working with crystals or crystal grids is the power of intention. Giving your crystals and grids a clear understanding on what you want them to help you achieve is something that I feel can be a bit diluted sometimes, but what you put in you get back when working with crystals. If your intention isn’t clear and a bit wishy washy then that’s what comes back. When you are setting your intention be clear with yourself. Why do you want that? What will it mean for you? How will it make you feel? And keep reaffirming that with yourself.
